meet the photographer

Hey there! My name’s Collin Coffey—yes, just like the drink, only spelled different. I’ve lived my whole life surrounded by pets, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that there is no such thing as too many photos of your furry companion.

My journey behind the camera began after signing up for a black-and-white film photography class in college and instantly falling in love with the magic of the darkroom. It only took that one class to teach me how to see the beauty of a split-second moment. Today, I’ve traded the film rolls for a digital lens, but that foundational eye for detail never left me.

My mission here at the Coffey Shop is to give you more than just a picture of your pet—I want to brew up memories you can hold on to forever. Just like a good cup of coffee adapts to your taste, I know every pet has their own unique flavor. From the energetic teething baby phase, to the terrible teens, to the dignified grey-muzzle years, every stage of their life deserves to be cherished.

Capturing your pet’s true personality takes a little time, patience, and usually a few belly rubs. Here is how we brew up your session from start to finish!

Step 1: Grinding & Prepping (The Meet & Greet)

Before we start extraction, we need to prep! My goal is to make sure both you and your pet feel entirely comfortable. Before the camera even comes out, I’ll take some time just to get acquainted. We’ll say hello, chat, and let your furry friend sniff around and get comfortable with me. Don’t worry—this prep time is on the house and doesn't count toward your official photoshoot time!

Step 2: Choosing Your Blend (Your Session)

Once your pet is feeling comfortable and confident, we'll ease into things with a few test shots. This helps them get used to the sound of the shutter and gives me a sense of how best to capture their unique spirit. From there, we dive into your chosen package:

  • The Espresso: A quick, concentrated session.

  • The Macchiato: An extended session layered with more time and extra photos.

  • The Latte: Our most smooth, drawn-out session featuring multiple locations for maximum variety.

Step 3: The Custom Add-Ins (Toys & Treats)

Just like a coffee order, every pet has unique tastes! What makes one dog tilt their head might make another completely lose interest. While I always come equipped with a "house blend" of essential toys, treats, and noise-makers, I highly recommend bringing a few of your pet's personal favorites. If my supplies don't quite capture their attention, your secret ingredients definitely will.

Step 4: Roasting & Refining (The Editing Process)

Once our session wraps up, the behind-the-scenes magic begins. I carefully review our shots, "roasting" and refining the images to perfectly showcase your pet's spirit and personality.

  • The Wait: This process takes about one week, depending on the package you selected.

  • Order Pickup: As soon as your order is ready you will receive access to a private online gallery where you can view and select your final photos for download.
